Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
By purchasing or using CodeBreak, you agree to these terms. Please read them — they're short.
The product
CodeBreak is a macOS menu bar application that monitors Claude Code task status and provides ambient visual and audio feedback via an animated companion character. It requires macOS 12 or later and an active installation of Claude Code.
License
When you purchase CodeBreak, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software. The license covers:
- One person
- Up to two Macs owned or controlled by that person
- All future releases at no additional cost
You may not share, resell, sublicense, or transfer your license key to another person.
Activations
Each license key supports two device activations. If you replace a Mac, you can reactivate on your new machine. If both slots are used and you need a reset, email support.codebreak@gmail.com — we'll sort it out.
What's included
- All four companion characters (Dev, Pup, Kitty, Byte)
- All eight sound packs
- All future updates, free forever
- Use on up to two Macs
Requirements
CodeBreak requires macOS 12 (Monterey) or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel. It only works with Claude Code (the terminal CLI or the Claude desktop app). It does not work with the claude.ai web interface.
No warranties
CodeBreak is provided "as is." We make no warranty that it will work perfectly in every environment, across every macOS update, or with every configuration of Claude Code. We'll fix bugs — but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service.
Limitation of liability
CodeBreak's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the software ($7). We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of CodeBreak.
Claude Code is not ours
CodeBreak is an independent product. It is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Anthropic. "Claude Code" is a product of Anthropic. We integrate with Claude Code's public hook system as documented in their developer tools.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted in release notes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is based. Disputes will be resolved by good-faith negotiation first — email us before escalating anything.
