Privacy Policy

The short version: CodeBreak collects the absolute minimum to function. No analytics. No telemetry. No third-party trackers. The only outbound network call is a one-time license activation.
What we collect
CodeBreak collects only what is strictly required for the product to work:
- License key — entered by you at activation. Stored securely on our activation server to validate your purchase, and in your macOS Keychain for offline verification.
- Device identifier — a unique, anonymous hardware identifier generated at activation. Used to bind your license to your Mac. Never stored to disk by CodeBreak.
- Your preferences — selected character, sound pack, volume, and visibility settings. Stored locally on your Mac. Never sent to any server.
What we do not collect
- No analytics or usage statistics
- No crash reports or error logs sent anywhere
- No Claude Code session content, prompts, or outputs
- No hook event history — all hook events are handled in-memory and discarded
- No behavioural tracking, no heatmaps, no session recording
Claude Code hook events
CodeBreak receives hook events fired by Claude Code (task done, needs input, error). These are processed locally to update the character state and trigger sounds. They are never logged, never written to disk, and never sent to any server.
Third-party services
CodeBreak uses two third-party components:
- Cloudflare — hosts our license activation endpoint. Cloudflare may log standard infrastructure data per their own privacy policy.
- Dodo Payments — processes your payment. Your payment details are handled entirely by them and subject to their privacy policy.
Data retention
- Your activation record is retained on our server for as long as your license is valid, to support reactivation on a new Mac.
- Local data remains on your device until you uninstall CodeBreak.
- To delete your activation record, email support.codebreak@gmail.com.
Children
CodeBreak is a developer tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and note the change in the release notes for the corresponding update.
